Love this little diddy I found yesterday. I think that is what so many of us battling back from a serious illness feel. We beat back one monster and then another one appears. It’s like a real life game of whack-a-mole. I believe that finding the time and energy to devote to things that renew your spirit help you win the monster battles and (hopefully) ultimately the war. One such activity is painting. Not the pretty watercolor stuff I love with the risers on the main staircase in this old house.
Hardwood Floors in This Old House
My current project is a real “work in progress.” It is painting the risers and woodwork the people who tore up the carpet and refinished the upstairs hardwood floors practically demolished right before the holidays. Can I just say how hard it is to find contractors who take pride in their work? This was an expensive project that a.) came in well over budget b.) took more than twice as long as promised and c.) didn’t measure up to the desired results. So I’ve been working on fixing it. Here are a few photos… hoping to maybe add a leopard runner when I get this thing looking how it should!
I think this tedious stairway work will take me a week or two… Cross your fingers!
