My house is full of little splatches of paint and paint chips right now. So this quote from the illustrious Dorothy Parker seemed appropriate. It does take creativity and courage not to be afraid to unleash a colorful makeover and a disciplined eye to do it in a way that doesn’t look like a crayon box exploded… Speaking of which, I’m actually rethinking making any changes to the sunroom and dining room. Still in the “hmmm” stage though. I’m hoping the polar vortex predicted for this weekend isn’t so bad my team of “experts” (aka my mother and sister) can’t get here to give me their ten cents…
So I will continue to kick this around while I’m painting miles of woodwork and trim damaged by the hardwood floor folks (GRRR…) and splashing around in the pool at the YMCA – trying to hit my mile marks for the 100 mile swim challenge I’m doing. I’m feeling grateful today for the interests and activities I have that help re-direct my mind off my health. Because of painting, pottery, watercolor and Pinterest I forgot for almost a whole day that I’m sick! I’m a writer by day so I’m usually too mentally beat to work on the novel I started before I got sick or I would add that to my list, too. More and more I really do believe the mind and spirit are just as important as any medical fix. I wish I could say more important though. If that were true, I’d be healed!
