I gotta admit it…the last 6 days have just been damned annoying. I’m having a flare up with my health again and no matter how much I swim, paint, read or rest, mind over matter ain’t cutting it. I think trying to re-direct your mind when you are in pain must be what its like to live with ADD. You can make yourself focus for a bit, but not very long. So I’ve been focusing on quick little projects I can do to try to keep my spirits up and wait for this to pass.
Watercolor Journaling
I took Catherine Carey’s watercolor journal class when we were in Bay View (Michigan) last summer. One suggestion she had for us was to make our own little chart of the watercolors we have. So I took this opportunity to do that. Now that I have the colors all down on paper, I’m going to try to come up with a prettier version.
The little pill container you see on the right is another one of Catherine’s ideas. You can use little half pans of watercolor in it or just dab paint right in each little spot. Then when you want to paint in your yard, your neighbor’s yard or along the beach, you have one great little mobile watercolor palette!
I’m going to create my own little ADD list for when I feel tough but want to keep chugging along… I’ll share it when I’m done! Maybe it will offer you some inspiration, too.
