So you know how fate sometimes intervenes in your life? You think you have a plan and then…KABAM! It changes.
That’s what happened to us. Our house sold in a nano-second and we were in an all out frenzy to find a lot and build. Not really planning to buy an existing house. Until we did.
Meet Our New House
It’s one of those “my favorite cousin’s husband’s dad lives 4 doors down from a lady who might want to sell…”
You know those kind of stories right?
The beauty of it is the house is in the most fabulously designed subdivision built by our dream builder. He does great work plus is committed to using green technologies.
Every home is different…great architectural interest…and even though our front yard is —Yikes! — the landscape architect he uses is the best. (The seller’s husband did the front yard himself…ugh. Loads of stone and pavers to haul away.)
Now let me tell you about the lady who owns it. She is late-70s or early-80s (I’m super bad with age!) and she just bought herself a brand new Mustang convertible. (Much to our embarrassment… we also learned she wears bright blue “undergarments” that she leaves around the house.) She’s who you want to be when you grow older really…
Why am I telling you all this?
So you will better understand all of the work we need to do inside and outside before we can move in…
What made us giggle is she wants to take the carpet with her to her new house!
Some rooms don’t need quite as much love as others do…
Looks like a busy summer ahead for us!!
Now I’m off to meet with the hardwood folks…and then the carpet dude before I head back to my office.
Don’t forget to follow me on social media where I’ll be showing our renovation journey…
XO
Shelley
So excited for you, Shelley! I love that kitchen! You will have the rest of the house looking fabulous in no time. And the best part? It’ll give you plenty of material to blog about! LOL! Ask me how I know. 😉 We actually showed our house to potential buyers last week, at the request of our realtor, and it isn’t even on the market. Yep, it’s a crazy real estate market this spring!
It is a crazy market! And still very low inventory. Good time to sell!!
