The Tale of Peter Rabbit in a Miniature Garden
This winter the peeps and I decided we wanted to create a miniature garden based on the story of Peter Rabbit and that mean ‘ole Mr. McGregor. We thought it would make a fun spring break project.
So a few weeks before the kids were off school, I zipped over to the pottery studio and whipped up a little cottage, some veggies, and a few bunnies. (I know I’m lucky to have a pottery studio so close by. If you don’t have access to one, I’m sure a product like Sculpey polymer clay would do the trick too!)
Then a stop at one of our favorite garden centers netted us a barn, a tractor and a few other farm-like goodies!
The toughest part?
That darn little blue sweater.
But you absolutely can’t tell the tale of Peter Rabbit without that little blue sweater. Am I right or am I right y’all?
So we searched Barbie clothes. Ken clothes. Itty bitty doll clothes.
Finally scored one on Etsy!
Painting for our Storybook Garden
My little artists took their work very seriously...
Finishing Up the Storybook Garden
Once we got everything painted… it snowed again… and again…
Then the rain came… over and over and over.
But the weather gods finally smiled on us and we were able to bring the garden to life!
