If you read my blog yesterday, you saw the disastrous photos from last fall. Ten days before we had a busload of family and friends coming to celebrate my little mother turning 70, a teenager blasted through our privacy fence, iron arbor, trees, patio and almost the garage. Despite the drama, we managed to get it all together and have a fabulous day! The weather gods must have been feeling a little sorry for our troubles, because the day was gorgeous… And we had a great time celebrating together.
Celebrating with a Homemade Photo Booth
Our homemade photo booth was a big hit with everyone. We just bought a few blow up instruments, some fun stuff on sticks, a few crowns, threw in a few hats, bought a few silly pieces of old clothing from Goodwill and ta-da! Photo booth. I won’t bore you with a lot of photos. Here are just a few to give you some ideas.
This year my sister and I decided to go small. Just my parents and the two of us. #SorryFamily!
Fall Tablescape Ideas
While I was under the weather with the flu this weekend, I tried a few different combos for the dinner table. Here is a quick peek:
Vote for Your Favorite from “The Finalists”
Some of these goodies are stuff I had around the house. Others are things I bought to test out. I need to make a decision and return what I’m not going to use. Hoping you all will help me decide by “voting” in the Comments section below! (Bummer that all of the spammers make it so I have to approve Comments. Please don’t let that stop you from voting though… Stinkin’ trolls!)
Just to give you some background…
Photo #1: Hydrangeas like in photo #1are one of my momma’s favorite flowers. And she loves fall more than any time of year. So I popped a few pumpkin napkin ring holders in there.
Photo #2: The boot in the photo #2 was one of the centerpieces from the 40th anniversary party we had for my parents three years ago. We used a theme that was a little bit country (for my Dad – #HatsOffToMrGeorgeStrait) and a little bit rock ‘n roll (for my momma -#ThankYouMrPresley).
What do y’all think? Please leave your “vote” in the Comments below!

p.s. Day #6 of the 31 Days of Writing Challenge. Gotta tell ya, friends. I’m really questioning my sanity in deciding to do this!
