Creating a fall tablescape with texture, color, and natural elements
Hands up if Fall is your favorite season?!
I’m right there with those of you who raised your hand…
The colors, the amber light, the blue skies, and the beautiful weather here in Michigan are the best.
Not to mention that it’s once again time for sweaters and cute boots!
If you are stopping by from Follow The Yellow Brick Road, welcome! Isn’t her blog beautiful? Gotta love a Kentucky blogger…
Here in Michigan, we are fortunate enough to have loads of apple orchards, pumpkin farms, and pick-your-own flower farms all around us.
So I take advantage of that and work them in to my home inside and out. That includes putting my fall tablescape together.
I’m happy to be participating in “It’s a Wonderful House: Fall Entertaining Blog Tours.” It’s hosted by Angelina at Petite Haus. Her site is gorgeous! If you haven’t visited her before, hop on over.
Creating a Fall Tablescape
I like to start my tablescape in the middle of the table. And I also like to use things I’ve made myself.
For this one, I started by stacking up a couple of log slices, adding a mason jar full of my favorite fall flowers, and a few pieces of pottery.
And my favorite burlap runner… Doesn’t burlap just seem to say “Fall” y’all?
I found a beautiful garland last year that is packed full of dried leaves. Everything from bayleaf to maple.
I cut it in half and used it on each end of the table. It’s such a time saver and it was so inexpensive.
I added some of my favorite pottery pieces that I’ve made in the last year or two. Mostly pumpkins and leaf candle holders.
I’m a beginning pottery student so they aren’t perfect, but real pumpkins and leaves aren’t either, right?
I spiffed it up with pine cones, twigs, and a a few other natural elements.
I’m still on the hunt for the perfect candles for the tops of my pottery leaves…
I just can’t seem to find ones I like. You know how that goes…
So if you see something fun that looks like a good fit for the green leaves, drop me a note, okay?
I’ve had these placemats for years and drag them out every fall.
The sunflowers and colors just seem to work well this time of year. And I like my “give thanks” napkins with them.
Since my table is a little busy, I opted for my neutral table settings and gold flatware.
I got them when we redesigned our kitchen shortly after moving in and I love how simple they are.
And that’s it! My simple and quick Fall tablescape.

I think all of us who participated in this fun fall blog hop are all hands up for fall. It is my favorite season. I just wish it lasted more than a week and a half. We were in the high 80’s last week and tonight we have a frost warning in Illinois. I just love your handmade pottery. Is unique and beautiful. Do you sell it? And where did you get those napkins? You could use them for so many different tablescape. Such a nice fall setting 💙

Our fall has been back and forth…hot and humid one day, cool the next. But late September and October are usually pretty awesome. Fingers crossed. And no, I don’t sell my pottery. I mostly force it on my friends and family and they pretend to love it! The napkins are a few years old now. I think I got them at Pier !! maybe. Or Pottery Barn… Thanks for stopping by!
