Quick and Easy Holiday Party Chicken Cheese Puff

December 4, 2014 By Shelley Leave a Comment

Chicken Cheese Party Puffs

Happy Thursday evening friends!

Are y’all knee deep in ornament boxes, gift bags and wrapping paper? Or is it just me who feels behind this year? I’m normally further along with my decorating, shopping and wrapping!

With Thanksgiving Day happening so late in November this year I have my tinsel in a tangle…

I think it is why I was excited to stumble on this super quick, easy and oh-so-tasty appetizer recipe.

It looks like more work than it is… Which makes it my kinda recipe!!

They are hearty appetizers which make them a good option for your holiday cocktail party buffet table.

Holiday Party Chicken Cheese Puff Ingredients

Holiday Party Chicken Puffs

Here is what y’all need to round-up to make these tasty little treats:

2 cups of cubed chicken (HINT: my little momma adds Paprika during the baking process and it gives the chicken awesome flavor!)

1- 8 ounce pkg of softened cream cheese (I use reduced fat…a girl has to balance out those carbs when she can right?)

1 cup shredded cheddar jack cheese (Ditto on the reduced fat version!)

Onion flakes or about half of a very small onion

Pinch of black pepper

Pinch of freshly ground sea salt

2 tubes of crescent rolls (Again- reduced fat version)

Baking ’em Up!

Here is how easy it is to whip up a batch of these delicious and hearty chicken cheese puffs…

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Spray or lightly grease two cookie sheets.

In a pretty good size mixing bowl, stir together the chicken chunks, cream cheese, cheddar jack cheese, onion and seasonings.

Crack open your crescent roll tubes.

(Do you ever outgrow loving to pop those babies open? I hope not!)

 Cracking open the crescent rolls

Use a small rolling pin to thin each one out a bit.

Roll out the chicken cheese puffs

Then put about 2 Tablespoons of the goodies in the center of the crescent roll.

Pull the edges up and over the goodies so they look like this…

Bake until golden brown. Mine take about 15 – 20 minutes.

Here’s what they look like when they are done.  So pretty on my Vietri Old St. Nick plates!
