I am making time for creative field trips these days. I learned the hard way that “Someday” might never come unless you make it! All of the things I meant to get around to doing “Someday” are being tackled one at a time. So I started taking a pottery class. Don’t make fun of my projects…it was only six weeks long! But so much fun. I’m waiting now for my fish teapot to get fired after I finished glazing. This Tuesday I will be on my own with a project start to finish during “independent time”. I’m thinking of making a few fairy doors for the little people and I to stash in our fairy garden and around the yard this summer.
Here is the place I told you about yesterday, the 577 Foundation. This is where I’m taking my pottery class. If you are a gardener, artsy or like yoga/meditation this is the place. Unfortunately you have to live in northwestern Ohio or southeastern Michigan to get to play here. Don’t judge them either. Their website is terrible. But what they offer is anything but! Lucky for me it is only a few blocks from my house…
So have you figured it out yet? It was one of my doctor’s ideas that I start a blog. She’s a cognitive behavioral therapist. The kind of head shrinker who tries to help you find ways to forget how sick you are and how much pain you are in. She’s pretty smart so I’m paying attention. I’m a professional writer… she thought having a place to write creatively would help me. If I can keep myself on track with this I’m going to get a real URL and pull these posts through to a new site. Three days in a row I’ve posted. Not bad considering I started my first post two years ago and its been fairly random since. I’m kicking around a few titles. 90% there. 10% still a tweak or two in progress.
I’m off to tape a few more paint chips around my house. If you read my post yesterday you know I’m getting ready to redecorate my 100 year old house AGAIN…
[…] I post my favorite artist excursions list, you will notice I have the 577 Foundation on it. I’ve written about them before on my blog. Its a great place! I’ve been taking […]
