Waiting on Spring
This is one of my favorite spots in this old house…
The Sunroom
Normally, even on gloomy days, at least a little natural light beams in.
And while spring teased us earlier last week, the cold, grey days have returned.
Ugh. Not even a glimmer of the sun for the last four days.
So I decided it was time to add a little spring to the house yesterday…
I went to the grocery store and grabbed a few bundles of flowers…and maybe a cookie or two.
Playing in flowers usually helps lift my spirits…
Usually.
Do you know the vase hiding in a vase trick?
I add seasonal things like red hots or conversation hearts for Valentine’s Day and jelly beans for Easter.
And I love rubber boots to put fresh flowers in to enjoy indoors or to plant annuals in outdoors…
Here is a peek at some leopard boots and sunflowers I did last fall
But I just wasn’t feeling it.
I was having a real Eeyore kind of day.
Even the “fresh” flowers were sad and drooping…
I knew what I really needed was a break from working on taxes for the business, laundry, refinishing kitchen cupboards…
Then I Met Kimmy Schmidt…
So instead of moping…or working on client’s articles… or swimming like I really needed to…
I was glued to Netflix watching the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
all the while eating Pepperidge Farms lemon cookies and drinking coffee with Bailey’s and Kahula.
All.Day.Long.
My only regrets?
Not making the coffee decaf…and not buying a bag of Pepperidge Farms Mint Milanos to go with the lemon ones.
