This great card has become my mantra. After a sudden, serious and…big gulp here…chronic illness, it is often hard to hear the music. I’ve been seriously ill for over seven months now. In the blink of an eye, I went from a big, on the go lifestyle to a patient with too many doctors to count. But this blog isn’t intended to be a sick girl whines space. My goal is to use this place and space to highlight how a quirky, creative chick battles each day and manages a new reality.
A classic example of how tough that will be is the length of time its taken me to get this first post up! I started it mid-April. I’d had six good days –and I mean good in a different way than before I got sick–and thought I was on my way back. Today is May 25th. Yep. Another setback kept me down almost a month. What I’ve learned since this all started on November 15th 2011 is that people need help finding ways to manage each day. Things to look at and ways to refocus their thoughts. Friends and family have suggested I do something like this since early on in my recovery. Use my “unique” sense of humor and strength to help others through illnesses. Especially females. We seem to cope differently. So, I’m going to try to do that. Share my song and see if it can help anyone else remember how to sing again.
